1st albumの”The Gilded Palace of Sin” リリース直後のライブ。1969年4月4，6日グレイトフル・デッドのオープニング・アクトとしての2回のライブ、CD2枚組です。録音状態も良く、Parsonsの素晴らしいボーカルが聴けます。

カントリーロックの先駆者。 The ByrdsのSweetheart of the Rodeoは、Gram Parsons主導で作製され、中身は完全にカントリーで発売当時これがロック？と話題になりました。 また、キース・リチャーズとの親交が有名で、ストーンズに大きな影響を与えました。ストーンズの楽曲「Wild Horses」がSticky Fingersの発売1年前のBuritto Deluxeの最終曲に入っています。
